Hues that never fail to compliment us brunettes: any shade of pink, really. The Duchess of Cambridge's latest sartorial win comes just last night at the 10th anniversary of ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) charity gala at Kensington Palace. As Kate exited a dark blue Jaguar and on to the purple carpet, her shimmering, resplendent Jenny Packham dress swept the floor and as she climbed the stairs, we were given a glimpse of her pale pink, £175L.K. Bennett Agata heels with a side bow made of suede. The blush pink organza (embellished with sequins and Swarovski crystals), her smoky brown eyes and the flush on the apple of her cheeks all dazzled to outshine every other female guest in attendance. As a champion of British fashion, Kate flew the flag. She was seen speaking enthusiastically with American designer Tom Ford during the gala however, sparking chatter about whether the Duchess would ever work with the former head of Gucci for future events.
The Duke's speech made reference to Kate's foray into the world of philanthropy and he included her as he addressed the considerably wealthy 1000+ guests.
"My brother, Catherine and I hope to use our philanthropy as a long-term catalyst for meaningful change. Programmed from this partnership will raise aspirations, broaden horizons and encourage young people to achieve what may have seemed to them unachievable," said William. "It will generate opportunities in education for young people in the United Kingdom and then later expand beyond our shores, initially to projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
